Charles Spurgeon said, "If prayer has no effect upon God, I may as well whistle when I rise in the morning as to pray, and I would as soon close my eyes at night in silence as run over a set of ineffectual words." But is it be possible to be sure of your salvation? The apostle John assures his readers that he is writing them so that they might "know" that they have everlasting life" (1 John 5:13).
